Ariel Finguerman is an academic and journalist. He also leads tours for visitors to the Holy Land.

After completing his undergraduate studies in Philosophy at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), he researched his PhD in Jewish Studies at USP and Tel Aviv University. He was awarded his doctorate summa cum laude in August 2008.
He completed his post-doctorate in Holocaust Theology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Finguerman is the author of "The Election of Israel - The Polemics between Jews and Christians over the Doctrine of the 'Chosen People'". The book was published by the Faculty of Philosophy of USP and is currently in its 2nd edition. In 2008 it was translated and published in Spain by El Almendro, an academic publishing house in Cordoba. The book has also a Latin-American version, as part of the collection Tempo Axial, published in Ecuador by Editorial Abya Yala.

As a journalist, he wrote for two major newspapers in Brazil, "Folha de Sao Paulo" and "O Estado de Sao Paulo", and then went to cover the Second Intifada in Israel and the Palestinian territories for Brazilian, European and North-American media.
His feature articles were collated in the book "Portraits of a War - Stories from the Conflict Between Israelis and Palestinians"
(in Portuguese - Globo Publishing House).
